How to Steal a Million

There’s something very valuable in a movie that pleases everyone. I watched this one with my my girlfriend, my parents, my aunt, my ninety-one year old grandmother, and my fiveteen year old cousin. We all enjoyed it.

Audrey Hepburn is endlessly stunning. Peter O’Toole has amazing blue eyes. Hugh Griffith plays Hepburn’s incorrigible art forger father. It was a fun movie. The romance beats felt unrushed and sweet.  The heist plot was well laid out and inventive. The technology they had to beat is so old school — art theft has gotten a lot more complicated since the 1960s. The film’s very much of it’s time. Hepburn wears a lot of awesome ridiculous mod fashion, and everyone drives around in tiny silly looking european cars.

It isn’t a real classic, it isn’t essential, but it’s a lot of fun.
