Sharp Teeth by Toby Barlow

This is a werewolf story written in verse. I don’t have to say anything else. You either already want to read this, from that alone, or it’s a lost cause. It’s a very good werewolf story written verse — at least I’m pretty sure it is. I suspect some of my enjoyment comes from the novelty factor — it’s a werewolf story! Written in verse! But there’s also an interesting tangle of a plot, and the writing is an adventure. There are parts where the narrative carries you along, and others where it’s the poetic language, but it’s never boring. It’s bloody, and never that surprising, almost mechanical, but it worked. There was pleasure in watching the mechanics of the story unfolding. It’s a werewolf story written in verse. If that doesn’t get you excited nothing I could say could convince you.
